The initial treatment will last between 1 to 1 ½ hours and will include a full consultation where I will discuss with you the dog’s activities of daily living, exercise, diet and medical history as well as the results you would like to see from the massage.
I will then do postural and gait analysis with the dog moving at different speeds.
I will then do a full body palpation where I will feel for muscular issues such as scar tissue, trigger points, spasms and strains.
The massage itself will last for approximately 45 minutes depending on the size of the dog. I will tailor the massage to each individual dog and will use a mixture of 3 different types of massage: swedish, sports and myofascial release in order to achieve the best results.
Afterwards I will explain fully to you any issues I have found.
Your dog may require up to 3 sessions, usually carried out over 3 weeks. Maintenance sessions can be discussed with you if this is appropriate. Subsequent treatments will last for approximately 1 hour.
The cost of the initial treatment is £35 and each subsequent treatment is also £35.
I work in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and Exemptions Order 1962 and therefore will require your vet to sign a consent form before the first session. You can download a consent form below or contact me and I can email or post one to you.
